Tooling Operator - Night Shift

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED Minimum 1-4 years quality experience in a manufacturing environment. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.  Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1-4 years’ Experience in metals manufacturing  Excellent Communication and Presentation skills (written, verbal and non- verbal), ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. Must work well in a team environment and commit to continuous improvement. Experience with SAP Must be able to obtain an in-house mobile equipment certification, including use of forklift and boom lift Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for all aspects of receiving, preparation, coating, and inspection of all tooling. 

Role and Responsibilities:

Reads and interprets prints or work instructions to ensure that tools and dies are prepared in accordance with specifications. Visually inspects tooling for damages. Inspects product by, sing measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, straight edges, etc. to insure conformance to specifications. Reads prints to determine tolerances. Inspects all incoming new dies. Inspects dies after use for potential re-application. Reports die condition via die inspection reports. Prepares dies for coating through operation Welds dies. Coats dies by using flame spraying machine to affix protective ceramic coating. Operates sandblasting equipment to roughen and clean surface of dies. Preheats dies in oven. Assembles tooling components. Maintains tooling inventory system. Prepares glass pads. Package tools for shipping. Any other duties deemed appropriate by management. Inspects product by using measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, straight edges, etc, to insure conformance to customer specifications. Visually examines product for surface defects such as cracks or pits. Rejects defective product, and marks type of defect on tooling or inspection tag. Classifies and describes defects to support cause and corrective action (CCA). Reports and documents inspection results. Supports company’s traceability and identification requirements. Reads prints to determine tolerances. Verifies sub-contractor inspection reports. Packages product for shipping. Inspects all incoming new dies. Inspects dies after use for potential re-application. Reports die condition via die inspection reports. Provides feedback to management tooling status. Supports the Tooling Inventory System. Any other duties deemed appropriate by management. Operate overhead bridge cranes and jib cranes Operator forklift and side loader. Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
