Tooling Manager
Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Tooling Manager. The expected annual salary range for this role is $93750.03 - $137500.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. **What you’ll do:** The Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the Tooling Engineer Manager, Manufacturing Support include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Manage resources in the team to meet site goals and determine priorities using IPT or site level guidance as needed. This includes assigning work to the team members based on tool complexity and skill level. • Design and develop and check moderate to complex technical solutions (tooling and fixtures) to be used in the manufacturing and assembly of aerospace products seeking guidance as needed. • Develop and maintain business system documents, standard work and tool drawing standards to support the team on all aspects of their roles and meet Eaton business practices. • Provide one on one reviews with direct reports. Role down yearly objectives, conduct yearly talent reviews and determine development needs for the team. • Source Materials, Parts, and Fabrications and Services required to support Tooling production. This also includes supporting proposal activity for new products as needed. Perform Risk assessments and review teams risk assessments on all designs, propose mitigation factors and raise concerns, seeking and giving guidance A/R. Independently conduct and document analysis on designed tool and fixture parts and assemblies, IAW company, Industry, and Engineering Standards, to verify that they are sufficient in strength and operation to fulfill their intended use and will be safe under all conditions of use seeking guidance from Sr. team members as required have the ability to Produce fully defined technical drawings using company provided computer-aided design/drafting (CAD) software. Interface with suppliers of tool and fixture parts to support on time delivery and reasonable cost of sourced components. Inspect and verify that received tool and fixture parts meet all requirements of the drawing with respect to dimensions, finishes, and function. Complete Assembly, Testing, Validation and Identification, as necessary, of delivered tooling. Evaluate/Investigate Existing Tools/Fixtures to create technical dwg packages (where none may exist) Proposed upgrade opportunities, and Facilitate Tool Revision / Rework along with while maintaining Configuration Control IAW company standards. Interpret and Modify existing technical drawings, to current company standards Provide accurate status reports to Manufacturing Engineering and others as required. Facilitate design/schedule reviews with senior team members and Manufacturing and Design Engineers as necessary. Develop process improvement suggestions to facilitate continuous improvement initiatives. Support Large Projects as required by site needs **Qualifications:** **Basic Qualifications:** + Minimum of a Bachelor’s in an Engineering Discipline -OR- Technical Associate’s Degree in Engineering or CAD -AND- 10 years of industrial tooling design experience. + Minimum of 8 years of experience with Computer Aided Design – CAD (SolidWorks preferred) + Minimum of 2 years of experience managing direct report employees. + Minimum of 4 years’ of experience with product design/tool & fixture design. + This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
