Job Summary:
To build, repair and maintain tools and tool components, for inspection buy-off. May be required to assist
higher grade Jig Builders.
Job Responsibilities:
• Plans and performs assembly operations necessary to construct, maintain, and repair tools and
tool components.
• Works from drawings and specifications to fabricate tools and tool components.
• Uses a wide variety of fabrication processes for completion or modification of tools and tooling
details.
• Requires the use of a variety of hand tools. Operates manual machines including but not limited
to band saws and drill presses.
• Sets up reference systems, analyzing and interpreting calculated data to present to inspection.
• Uses a variety of measuring instruments including but not limited to, micrometer, dial indicator,
transit, level, scale, various calipers and height gauges, protractors, laser tracker, and portable
coordinate measuring devices.
• Performs deburring, blending, and grinding operations as required.
• Responsible for quality of own work.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Education:
Must have a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. Uses
advanced shop math, a variety of precision measuring instruments and interprets blueprints. Moderate
computer skills required. Must successfully complete all required training courses
Experience:
No experience required. Fabrication experience and mechanical aptitude preferred.
Working Conditions:
Somewhat disagreeable shop conditions.
