Job Description
The Tooling Engineer will provide technical support and guidance to enhance the die-making process and bolster/retainer quality in and around automation systems and tooling.
ResponsibilitiesCreate 3D or 2D drawings from data measured by newly purchased 3D scanning equipment.Utilize skills for measuring product roughness and die dimensions using the newly introduced 3D scanner (training will be provided).Compare the measured 3D scan with the original model to ensure precision.Perform measurements and scanning with Hexagon CMM arm.Manage parts and inventory control effectively.Apply experience with NX or Catia CAD software for designing purposes.Proactively address and correct all unsafe behaviors and conditions.Perform work requiring advanced knowledge of forging and die engineering.Support CAD/CAM operations and programming.Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD and equipment maintenance.Experience with CAD/CAM systems.Familiarity with 3D scanning or CMM technology.Expertise in die CAD development, mechanical engineering, and forging.Knowledge of PLCs and tooling.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering related program.Over 5 years of experience in manufacturing.Proven CAD/CAM experience.Work Environment
The role is with a manufacturer of forged crankshafts. While the plant floor is a hot and dirty environment, this position will be located in an office setting. Standard working hours are from 7 AM to 5 PM, with the flexibility to work additional hours as needed (40-50 hours/week). Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
