Tool Technician
**Job Title: Tool Technician** **Job Description** As a Tool Technician, you will be responsible for machining and building tools, fixtures, components, and assembling devices as needed. You will record pertinent information and assist with designs, layouts, and machining tools, fixtures, components, and assembly devices as parts require. You will understand blueprints or CAD drawings to build tools to customer specifications and verify the accuracy of tool components and tools before the trial run. Following safety procedures to ensure safe equipment operation and notifying the Tool Room Lead to resolve process, product, equipment, and production issues will be essential. Performing any other duties as assigned by management is also part of the role. **Responsibilities** + Machining and building tools, fixtures, components, and assembling devices. + Recording pertinent information related to tool and component construction. + Assisting with designs, layouts, and machining of tools and fixtures. + Understanding and interpreting blueprints or CAD drawings to meet customer specifications. + Verifying the accuracy of tool components before trial runs. + Following safety procedures for safe equipment operation. + Notifying the Tool Room Lead to resolve process, product, equipment, and production issues. + Performing additional duties as assigned by management. **Essential Skills** + Experience in tool maintenance and repair. + Ability to plan, construct, and repair complex tools, dies, gauges, and fixtures. + Knowledge of up-to-date methods and software applications. + Proficiency in manual machining and understanding blueprints and schematics. + Experience in tool and die repair. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent with emphasis on mathematics and mechanical drawing. + Vocational school or trade school tool/die training preferred. + Knowledge in the operation of presses, metal cutting, and various tool room equipment. + Understanding of metals and their application to specific parts and processes. + Continuous learning about tooling, fixtures, tolerances, and use of measuring gauges. + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to interact effectively with customers, management, coworkers, and outside engineers. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
