Tool & Die Technician

We are seeking a skilled **Tool and Die Maker** with experience in **equipment maintenance** and **mechanical improvements** to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of tools, dies, fixtures, and other equipment critical to our **cold/hot stamping** and **robotic welding** operations. **Key Responsibilities:**
+ **Safety Compliance:** Adhere to all **OSHA** guidelines, **safety procedures** , and **personal protective equipment (PPE)** requirements.
+ **Tool and Die Setup & Maintenance:** Perform die setup and routine repairs following **GWV standards** for both **cold/hot stamping** and **robotic welding** .
+ **Preventive Maintenance & Troubleshooting:** Diagnose and maintain tools, dies, and equipment; work on **preventive maintenance** and identify areas for **continuous improvement** .
+ **Fabrication & Repair:** Fabricate new parts and repair replacement details for **robotic weld cells** , **spot weld cells** , and maintain fixture assembly.
+ **Quality & Cost Savings:** Collaborate in **quality improvement** , **cost-saving** initiatives, and **tool/die enhancements** to improve overall operations.
+ **Use of Tools & Equipment:** Operate a variety of equipment, including **hand and precision tools** , **mills** , **grinders** , and **welders** to complete tasks.
+ **Blueprint & Engineering Changes:** Read and interpret **blueprints** and **engineering changes** to ensure compliance and accurate execution of tasks.
+ **Fixture Quality Assurance:** Ensure fixtures meet **customer requirements** and comply with quality standards.
+ **Production Support:** Participate in **5S** and maintain an organized work area to ensure **efficiency** .
+ **Cross-Training & Team Collaboration:** Support team functions by engaging in **Kaizen** initiatives, **cross-training** , and **problem-solving** to meet **operational metrics** .
+ **Other Duties:** Perform additional tasks as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the production process.
**Qualifications:**
+ **Education:** High School Diploma or GED (required); further training in manufacturing or tool-making preferred.
+ **Experience:**
+ Previous **manufacturing** or **tool and die** experience preferred.
+ **Journeyman** status or comparable experience in **tool making/maintenance** .

3. Proficient in **machining/milling** , **welding** , and **troubleshooting** .
4. Familiar with **press and robotic operations** .
5. Ability to follow **standardized work instructions** and **safety protocols** .
6. Knowledge of **metallurgical processes** and their application in tool making.
7. Experience with **quality control** and ensuring adherence to customer specifications.
**Physical & Mental Requirements:**
8. Ability to lift and move materials and tools as necessary.
9. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
10. Capable of working in a fast-paced and dynamic manufacturing environment.
**Pay Details:** $28.00 to $32.00 per hour
