Estimated annual base pay:  $17.38 - 21.73(midpoint) - $26.08 plus shift differential and overtime

Are you ready to make your mark?   If you’re looking to be a Tool Crib Attendant, we have an exciting opportunity for you.  The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for the management of the tool crib, including inventory control, issuing tools, and maintaining the tool crib area in a clean and organized manner. This role is essential to the smooth operation of the shop as it ensures that the necessary tools are readily available for use.


** This position is for a weekend day shift, typically scheduled from 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM, working 12-hour shifts – Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

What you will be doing

Receive, store and issue tools, equipment, and supplies to the appropriate departments or personnel

Inspect tools for damage or wear and report any issues to the Shop Manager

Maintain inventory of all tools and equipment in the tool crib and ensure that the inventory is accurate

Perform periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies

Monitor tool usage to ensure that tools are returned in a timely manner and are not being misused

Keep the tool crib area clean and organized

Identify opportunities to improve tool organization and storage

Assist in the ordering of new tools and equipment as needed

May be required to run simple motorized equipment to perform functions (e.g. bandsaw, chemical etching, vibro engraving)

May be required to be certified and operate powered material handling equipment (e.g. forklift truck, motorized pallet handler, crane)

Moderate physical activity requiring agility and dexterity, including walking, standing, or bending; and lifting or moving objects.

Work is performed in an area with moderate risk or discomfort that may require special safety precautions, such as wearing protective clothing or gear.

What We Are Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent required

1- 2 years related work experience

Solid reading, writing and math skills.

Ability to manage tasks, interruptions and meet deadlines as required.

Required to bend, reach, stoop, and remain standing for extended periods of time. May be exposed to chemicals.

Uses racks, carts, trays, shelves, and cleaning equipment for picking and stocking.  In some plant cleaning parts in preparation for assembly. Body strength to lift up to 50 pounds (25kg) regularly, may be required to lift up to 100lbs (50kg) with help.
