Job Title: Tool and Die Maker

Job Description

The Tool and Die Maker will work from blueprints, sketches, models, specifications, or other drawings to plan sequences for operations and machining, compute dimensions, and visualize assemblies based on specifications. This role involves verifying dimensions, alignments, and clearances using measuring instruments, and setting up and operating various equipment to shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes. Additionally, the role includes fitting and assembling parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, as well as designing jigs, fixtures, and templates for use in the fabrication of parts or products.

ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and saws to shape parts according to prescribed dimensions and finishes.Visualize and compute dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies based on specifications.Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools using machine tools and hand tools.Troubleshoot on deep draw tooling and progressive punch press dies on presses up to 600 tons.Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.Design jigs, fixtures, and templates for use as work aids in the fabrication of parts or products.Smooth and polish flat and contoured surfaces of parts or tools using files, power grinders, or scrapers.Perform test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications when necessary.Assist in the development and designing of new tools and dies using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
