The Role

As part of the US Core Engineering team the Engineering Lead has passion and drive to enhance the best in class experience for our clients across our US Core platform and deliver the team’s strategic initiatives while adhering to relevant regulations, internal policies, and procedures. 

 

Is this role right for you?

Lead engineering teams dedicated to delivering US Deposit business value through robust planning, discovery, execution, and continuous learning  Proactively monitor and manage team and program-level risks and dependencies, ensuring transparent communication with value stream stakeholders  Identify and resolve dysfunctions that may arise within teams or across programs  Foster strong collaboration at the program level with peers to ensure seamless communication and alignment between teams  Support program-level workshops, guiding teams in adopting and mastering Agile frameworks and methodologies  Coach and mentor both team members and leaders, elevating overall capability and performance  Promote a client-centric culture to deepen client relationships and leverage the bank’s broader systems, networks, and expertise  Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.   Consistently pursue operational excellence in alignment with Scotiabank’s Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring that business controls are robust, effective, and compliant with operational, regulatory, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk requirements 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading engineering teams as a people manager  At least 7 years in technical roles within Agile environments  Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale, multi-year projects and programs  Proven ability to lead software development teams under tight deadlines  Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and maintain an open, collaborative mindset  Quick to adapt and capable of building deep technical expertise in team deliverables and operating models  Committed to continuous improvement and leading by example  Proficient with open-source DevOps tools such as Bitbucket/GIT, Jenkins, Artifactory, Gradle, and Docker  Knowledge of Vendor Management processes considered an asset  Knowledge of Finacle considered an asset Knowledge of Wires processing considered an asset
