The role:
Leads and oversees the Process Reengineering and global Close Orchestration Area by ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. This role ensures that Finance operations are continuously improved through streamlined workflows, automation, and data-driven solutions. The Director partners with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to redesign processes, embed efficiency, and deliver scalable outcomes that strengthen reporting, compliance, and insight delivery.

Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Build a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Operations Research or related field required. Master’s degree in Business, Strategy, or Operations preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in process reengineering, process orchestration, finance operations, or transformation delivery within a global financial institution or advisory firm. Proven success leading large-scale process improvement initiatives in the finance industry. Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering across Finance, Technology, Risk, Operations and Business. Experience with ERP platforms (Oracle, Workday Financials) and process automation tools. Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies preferred. Process Innovator – Redesigns workflows to drive efficiency, scalability, and compliance. Execution-Focused – Translates strategy into actionable process improvement initiatives. Collaborative Partner – Works across Finance, Technology, Operations and Risk to deliver enterprise outcomes. Governance-Minded – Embeds compliance and control rigor into all reengineering work. Continuous Improvement Leader – Champions a culture of ongoing optimization and operational excellence.
