Purpose

The Business Solutions Lead is a strategic role responsible for driving business transformation and technology adoption across the Organization within Canada and Internationally. This leader will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, design, and implement innovative solutions that support operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and regional growth objectives.

Accountabilities

Solution Development: Analyze business needs, propose tailored solutions, and oversee project delivery for new and existing products and services. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with our partner in GRM and Global Treasury and other functional areas within the Bank, ensuring alignment of business objectives and technology strategies. Process Optimization: Lead process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce operational risks. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure solutions comply with Canadian and International Banking regulations for each market where the Bank of Nova Scotia operates. Change Management: Drive adoption of new systems and processes, providing training and support to end-users across regions. Report Management: Provide regular updates to Leadership Team on the status of GRM and Global Treasury pipeline of initiatives.

Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or related field. Experience: Minimum 5 years leading business solution projects, preferably in financial services and multicultural environments. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Languages: Fluent in English and Spanish. Skills: Project management, stakeholder communication, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and familiarity with Risk Management. Experience working with development teams and systems integrators to deliver successful solutions.  Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) Knowledge in Data Tools (SQL, Excel) Possess a strong understanding of data management principles, product ownership best practices, and the Canadian financial services landscape.  Cross-cultural awareness and adaptability. Experience with digital transformation initiatives. Strong leadership and team-building skills.
