In this position...
Ford Motor Company's VEV Team is looking for a detail oriented, motivated, self-starter to join our team as an Engineering Technologist Leader for a full-time position in the Tire Lab. The Leader would be responsible for prepping vehicles/wheel and tire assemblies, for tire testing. The Leader will be responsible for aligning the workforce with the prioritized workload as agreed upon by PD Engineering in order to meet program milestones. The skillset required for this position include a high degree of technical aptitude in the prototype business and having a thorough understanding of vehicle architecture. 

You'll have...
High School Graduate or equivalent.
10+ years’ experience in Tire Testing.
10+ years’ experience in prototype testing.

Leadership skills to prioritize and manage workloads.
Proven skills in multitasking, time management, quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently.
Proficient computer skills, including ELMS, Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Team player with a willingness to learn new roles and responsibilities as our industry evolves.
Safety focused with solid risk assessment skills.

This position is a range of salary grades SG5-SG6.

What you'll do...

Direct the workflow in the Tie Lab ensuring smooth and efficient operations while meeting customer deadlines.Provide coaching to develop the lesser experienced technicians in the lab.Oversee and provide direction on the Tire Inventory Instance of ELMS.Provide clear direction to supporting automotive technicians.Coordinate and align Tire Lab support for APG travel season.Operation of Akron Wheel Analyzer.Coordinate maintenance of Tire Lab equipment.Maintain inventory of consumables for the Lab.Investigate and coordinate purchase of new Tire Lab equipment.  Coordinating with the Skilled Trades to have Tires shipped throughout the company and supplier testing facilities.Review work requests in ELMS for completeness and accuracy before completing.Generate and manage updated timing schedules via work request system (ELMS).Digitally manage workload via work request system (ELMS).Accurately capture labor standards via work request system (ELMS).Ability to communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of engineering requestors to meet often unforeseen or changing circumstances while maintaining critical job timing.
