Senior Manager, Merchandising Special Projects & Collaborations (Timberland)

 

What will you do?

A day in the life of a Lead of Special Projects and Collaborations at Timberland looks a little like this.

You'll be a trusted member of our team, reporting to the Vice President, Merchandising. You will directly manage all collaboration projects and related assortment plans. This role leads and collaborates across the organization at global/regional levels and cross-functionally with Product Development and Design, Apparel, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, and Legal and Finance.  This role will also work closely with high-profile partners, brands, and retailers to drive strategic business priorities. 

In addition, you will envision and plan a 3–5-year partnership roadmap, tied to Timberlands long-range priorities, to be integrated seamlessly into seasonal inline product planning. 

Finally, balancing strategy, vision, and agility, you will lead the execution and continuous improvement of the product creation processes to optimize collaborations that generate brand heat.

Deliver the annual map of collaboration projects and assortments in alignment with the brand’s objectives against growth areas and key distribution channels/tiers 

Demonstrate a deep understanding of our most-forward thinking consumers globally and partner with Marketing and Design on how to connect them to the Timberland brand through partnerships, projects, and product 

Lead, communicate, and drive the product creation process and the Go-To-Market (GTM) process across internal and external partners to maintain project timelines and deliver both creative, brand-enhancing as well as financial results 

Drive the strategic briefing process for all collaborations, ensuring visibility and awareness across footwear, apparel, and accessories partners

Direct the line plan for collaboration projects, liaising with both Brand and Regional Merchandising to meet all key performance indicators (KPIs) related to Style Colour Options(SCO) count, productivity to fulfil minimum order quantities (MOQ) requirements and revenue generation

Partner with regional merchandising and sales to drive account segmentation and limited distribution strategies specific to collaborations, on an annual and seasonal basis 

Partner with Marketing and Design to drive discussions on the global collaborations' roadmap and strategic distribution to generate brand heat across the globe 

Partner with Product Development to ensure expectations around timing, cost, and design execution are clear to all relevant parties. Drive timely delivery of feedback from partners to facilitate product creation process.

Oversee the process and continuously seek improvements to the product creation process, workflow, and tools to optimize brand heat and revenue creation 

 

What do you need to succeed?

We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you’ll need to succeed and excel. Formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees such as a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Merchandising, Business, or a related discipline, are nice to have, we are most interested in your ten years of progressive experience with five years of managerial experience, consisting of a mix of product management, merchandising, and/or key account management.

The foundation skills you will need in this position are:

Knowledge and passion for regional and global key accounts as well as different aspects of global culture: art, design, music, and fashion 

Fine-tuned attention to detail and product aesthetics 

Attuned to working in a fast-paced, ambiguous entrepreneurial environment

Experience with licensing and collaboration contracts 

Deep experience in the cross-functional aspects of the GTM process and an ability to adapt with flexibility and agility 

Experience with cross-functional stakeholder (internal and external) management 

Excellent organizational, presentation and communication skills 

Pro-active approach to mission-critical issues and problem-solving

Hiring Range:

$108,000.00 USD - $135,000.00 USD annually

Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
