Position Overview: PlanITROI is seeking skilled Tier 3 Computer Repair Technicians to join our IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) refurbishing team. This role is responsible for advanced-level diagnostics, repair, and refurbishment of computer hardware and related IT equipment. The Tier 3 Technician will serve as a subject matter expert, troubleshooting complex issues, supporting lower-tier technicians, and ensuring refurbished devices meet customer specifications and company quality standards. Full-time: Monday-Friday, 7 AM-3:30 PM Key Responsibilities + Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on desktops, laptops, notebooks, Chromebooks, tablets, and other IT hardware. + Diagnose and resolve hardware and firmware issues that could not be resolved at Tier 1 or Tier 2 levels. + Rebuild, reconfigure, and upgrade systems, including component-level repairs such as motherboards, power supplies, and displays. + Test and verify functionality of repaired and refurbished devices to meet quality assurance standards. + Support Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians with escalated repairs and provide training or mentorship as needed. + Document all repairs, parts used, and outcomes in company systems with accuracy and attention to detail. + Collaborate with production supervisor and quality control teams to ensure customer requirements are consistently met. + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in compliance with company policies. + Stay current with evolving IT hardware trends, repair methods, and refurbishing best practices. Qualifications + High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications (CompTIA A+, OEM certifications) preferred. + 3+ years of hands-on experience in computer repair, with proven expertise in advanced diagnostics and system rebuilding. + Strong knowledge of hardware components, BIOS/UEFI, firmware updates, and system imaging processes. + Ability to diagnose and repair down to the component level (e.g., soldering, board-level troubleshooting a plus). + Familiarity with ITAD warehouse environments, refurbishing processes, and quality standards preferred. + Proficient in using diagnostic tools, repair software, and documentation systems. + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + Excellent communication skills with the ability to support and mentor less experienced technicians. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods in a warehouse setting.
