Tier 2/3 Network Infrastructure Specialist
As a Network Infrastructure Specialist at Ryder you will be supporting some of the largest supply chain and logistics customers in America. In this role you will be responsible for ordering and tracking implementation of services at each Ryder site (adds/moves/changes) and manage the sites inventory database. This person will manage all Infrastructure related activities to insure delivery dates are met in support of projects which include, location assessments, cabling infrastructure, PCs, Wi-Fi, servers, UPSs etc. Setup Ryder approved equipment and pre and post go-live support. This role does require 50-60% travel to different Ryder Locations across the east coast.


Other responsibilities include:
Manage and maintain a complete Field Lab Environment which mirrors a field location. This will include ensuring that all Routers/Switches/Firewalls/Access Points/Printers and PCs are maintained up-to-date and completely mirroring the field.
Provide support for special Infrastructure projects when called upon by the Project Manager, or any other team member. This support includes, but no limited to, Internet connectivity, Networking, PC hardware and software, printers, copiers and any other IT devices required for in the project
Continuously strive to improve client support, identifying opportunities and recommending solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.
Manages the technical and inventory database to insure information is accurate and up to date.
Order services from Telecom vendors for voice, data and wireless (cellular) servicies. Coordinate installations and project delivery timelines for Ryder and customer locations.
Provide extended periods of time on support and project phone calls with Ryder users and vendors.
Computer use for email communications with users, customers and vendors.
Computer use for managing tasks on the Ryder incident ticketing system.
Ability to quickly diagnose complex issues and set forth a recovery strategy or plan for solution.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment as part of a team independently with minimum supervision.
