Bring your big ideas knowing you are safe to be who you are and speak up with concerns or questions and put your diverse talents and perspectives to use. **The Opportunity** In this role, you will have the opportunity to... + Advise power project owners and developers to support new thermal and renewable energy projects. + Provide technical support for carbon capture studies. + Perform owner’s engineer design reviews of mechanical systems for power projects. + Participate as mechanical lead in feasibility studies and development support for new power projects including the areas of biofuels and hydrogen. + Participate in condition assessments of existing power plants. + Prepare and review other engineering deliverables such as reports, studies, and calculations. + Execute performance testing of new & existing thermal and renewable energy plants. + Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects to support financing. + Monitor project schedules and budgets. + Support multiple projects simultaneously and ensure high standards of deliverables are met. + Interface with clients to understand requests and confirm successful project execution. + Support proposals for new business development opportunities. + Consult on maintenance planning of thermal and renewable power plants. + Monitor construction, commissioning, maintenance, & repair of thermal and renewable energy plants and components as an owner’s engineer. + Procure of major power plant equipment, upgrades, maintenance, and service agreements. **The Team** **Black & Veatch Operations** develops, deploys, and maintains global resources and capabilities that guide execution and process excellence across the organization. The foundation of Black & Veatch Operations provides the ability to move where your skills are needed and allows for a collaborative and innovative culture offering greater challenges and career development opportunities. **Preferred Qualifications** + 10 or more years of experience in the electric power industry, specifically experience in thermal power generation. + Experience in owner’s engineering design reviews of electric power projects. + Experience with performance testing of thermal energy plants. + Detailed understanding of power station operation and maintenance. + Excellent technical communication and writing skills. + Familiarity with design codes and standards. **Minimum Qualifications** Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 8 years related work experience.
