Therapist (OP)

The Therapist performs therapy service functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them to gain/improve skills needed to achieve their optimal level of emotional health. Responsibilities include providing consultation, education, specialized therapy services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.

Core Competencies

Apply theoretical knowledge of psychopathology and age-appropriate treatment techniques.

Perform psychosocial assessments, establish diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.

Evaluate patient data and implement individualized treatment plans.

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care planning and discharge needs.

Provide individual, family, and crisis intervention therapy.

Maintain current knowledge of community social, medical, and psychiatric resources.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and care teams.

Support utilization management and ensure appropriate psychosocial assistance.

Deliver care with respect, dignity, and patient safety in mind.

Complete timely progress notes, discharge plans, and required documentation.

Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and performance improvement activities.

Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and effectiveness in high-stress situations.

Prepare reports, maintain case records, and track program statistics.

Pursue ongoing professional growth through continuing education, seminars, and professional organizations.

Qualifications

Education:

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a clinical mental health field (from an accredited institution).

Experience:

Therapist I: One (1) year of experience preferred; new graduates considered with supervisory plan.

Therapist II: Five (5) years of psychiatric healthcare experience, including family/group therapy, crisis intervention, and strong clinical assessment skills.

License:

Therapist I: State certification (LCSW or LPC) within two (2) years of employment preferred.

Therapist II: State certification (LCSW or LPC) required.

Chemical Dependency Requirements:

Experience providing individual, family, and group therapy.

Familiarity with chemical dependency issues, 12-step programs, and related philosophies.

Schedule:
Two (2) days 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and three (3) days 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Pay Range:
$24.16 to $36.24 per hour
