The Theatre Department at the University of Southern Maine is seeking applicants for our 2024/2025 academic year Theatre Productions on the Gorham Campus.
Through a wide-ranging production season, interdisciplinary collaborations, community and school outreach, and interactive theatre experiences, the University of Southern Maine’s Department of Theatre contributes to the rich cultural, creative, and artistic life of the greater Portland area and the state of Maine.
We are seeking to fill the following position for our Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 season:
+ Head Electrician ($750 per semester)
+ Fall 2025 runs from 9/2/2025 – 12/15/2025 and Spring 2026 runs 1/22/2026 – 5/1/2026
For our Fall 2025 Fall Dance Concert we are seeking the following positions:
+ (2) Guest Choreographers ($850)
+ Fall 2025 – 9/8/2025 – 12/4/2025
+ Spacing/Tech dates 11/22 – 12/3
+ Guest Costume Designer ($850)
+ Fall 2025 – 9/2/2025 – 12/4/2025
+ Production meetings via zoom beginning in September
+ Spacing/Tech dates 11/22 – 12/3
For our Spring 2026 main stage production of ALL IN THE TIMING by David Ives we are seeking the following positions from 12/1/2025 to 2/28/2025:
+ Director ($1,500)
+ Guest Scenic Designer ($1,000)
+ Guest Costume Designer ($850)
+ Guest Lighting Designer ($850)
Production meetings via zoom beginning in December 2025; rehearsals beginning January 22, 2025; tech dates Feb 20-26, 2025.
For our Spring 2026 musical production of CABARET we are seeking the following position from 2/22/2026 to 4/2/2026:
+ Guest Lighting Designer ($850)

Required Qualifications:
+ Demonstrated experience working in theatre and/or performing arts and/or theatre production.
+ Ability to attend rehearsals and production meetings based upon production schedule.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with our faculty and staff, as well as college-aged students in a learning environment.
+ Ability to uphold the positive reputation of the University of Southern Maine
