Description:Lockheed Martin is seeking a THAAD Interceptor Development Senior Program Manager, reporting directly to the THAAD Development Program Director. This position can be performed in Huntsville, AL, Sunnyvale, CA, or Arlington, TX.
The Upper Tier Integrated and Air Missile Defense (UTIAMD) THAAD Development Program Area is responsible for the execution of THAAD Weapon System and Component design, development, integration and test. Development efforts include, but are not limited to, development of future Weapon System capabilities, incremental product changes, hardware redesigns and changes due to obsolescence, increased performance capability, cost reduction initiatives, technology insertion, and changes in response to an expanded target space.
This portfolio leader will be responsible for managing the execution of all THAAD Interceptor Development programs, in excess of $500M. This position requires frequent and effective communications with business capture teams, global supply chain teams, external suppliers, finance, planning, contracts, quality, engineering and other Interceptor stakeholders as necessary to meet Interceptor Development objectives. This position also requires careful coordination with the UTIAMD THAAD Interceptor Transition to Production and Production Directors to ensure overall UTIAMD Interceptor objectives are achieved across the program life cycle.
This position requires development of professional relationships across multiple Missile Defense Agency (MDA) customers, Lockheed Martin executive leadership, and multiple LM business areas. Communication with Lockheed Martin and MDA leadership is required on a regular basis to provide cost, schedule, technical and risk status with concise and current briefing material. This position will also review and approve project plans, estimates, proposals, business plans, supplier task statements and specifications.
The THAAD Interceptor Development team is primarily based on Sunnyvale, CA. While the ideal candidate would reside and work full time in the Sunnyvale office, candidates who are able to work onsite in Arlington, TX or Huntsville, AL who can commit to a minimum of 25% business travel to Sunnyvale, CA will also be considered.
Basic Qualifications:
• Significant development experience with flight hardware and/or associated technologies
• Demonstrated program management experience leading large teams
• Experience working with supply chain management to ensure product meets quality, cost, and schedule requirements
• Demonstrated Earned Value Management (EVM) experience
• Risk and Opportunity Management experience
• Must be able to travel minimum 25% to THAAD office in Sunnyvale, CA
• DOD Secret Clearance is required
Desired Skills:
• Experience working with the Missile Defense Agency, US Army or Department of Defense or equivalent complex, multi-tiered customer organization
• Experience hiring, managing, and developing direct reports
• Experience in all aspects of Development lifecycle (requirements development, design, flight test, qualification, verification, and product delivery)
• Demonstrated ability to formulate & execute corrective actions and recovery plans
• Experience with proposal development and prime/supplier negotiations
• Strong executive presence and communication skills

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $151,200 - $266,570. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
