Job Posting: Software QA Tester (Level II) – Hybrid, Albany, NY Workplace Type: Hybrid Location: Albany, NY (open to relocation) Contract Length: 15 months Mandatory Qualifications Applicants must meet all mandatory qualifications below (each requires 4–7 years of experience): + 4–7 years as a Tester (Level II) + 4–7 years of Quality Assurance experience managing testing across multiple high‑profile, complex projects in a matrixed environment + 4–7 years reporting and presenting status, risks, and results to stakeholders and senior leadership Only candidates who meet all mandatory requirements above will be considered. Desirable Qualifications + 4–7 years developing test plans, test cases, defect tracking, and building automated tests. + 4–7 years leading and managing functional test planning and test execution activities. + 4–7 years with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Katalon Studio). + 4–7 years using Jira, Xray Test Management, or similar test/defect tracking tools. + 4–7 years scripting experience (Java, JavaScript, or related) for automated test script development. + 3–5 years creating test metric dashboards and reports using Jira or comparable tools. + 2+ years QA experience on Child Support application projects (highly preferred). Role Overview The Software QA Tester – Level II supports the Quality Assurance function on major initiatives. This position requires strong analytical capabilities, automated testing experience, and the ability to work efficiently within an Agile/Scrum environment. Key Responsibilities + Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement) + Develop and execute automated test frameworks and test scripts + Produce and maintain all testing artifacts: + Sprint/Iteration test plans + Test scenarios + Test cases + Test scripts + Execute tests following established QA standards + Log and manage defects using defined processes + Support sprint reviews/demos, exploratory testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) + Assist with Performance, Security, and other non‑functional testing + Provide accurate estimates, maintain schedules, and meet iteration deadlines + Report progress, risks, issues, and mitigations to management Desirable (Preferred) Qualifications + 4–7 years developing test plans, cases, defect tracking, and automated tests + 4–7 years leading functional test planning & execution + Experience with automation tools (Selenium, Katalon Studio) + Experience with Jira, Xray Test Management, or similar tools + Scripting experience (Java, JavaScript, or related) for automation + 3–5 years producing test metric dashboards/reports + 2+ years experience working on Child Support application projects (highly preferred) Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Albany, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
