Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Test Technician for our engineering laboratory services. This role involves working on the 2nd shift to perform set-up and tear-down activities of large water-cooled chillers. The technician will operate under general supervision to support engineering testing and maintenance of equipment.
Responsibilities
Perform basic to moderately complex set-up and tear down activities of large water-cooled chillers.Connect and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems on Charlotte manufactured equipment.Operate, inspect, and maintain test setups and equipment to detect malfunctions.Collaborate with engineers and higher-level support staff on test procedures and results.Provide technical support for engineering tasks and contribute to project planning and execution.Ensure each unit is tested before leaving the facility, including running tests for R&D and certification.Essential Skills
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.3+ years of experience with hand/pneumatic tools.Experience with HVAC service and systems.Ability to move and lift weights up to 35 lbs.High School Diploma or GED.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associates Degree or Trade Technical/Business School Certificate preferred.Experience with large commercial equipment and HVAC systems.Proficiency in instrumentation set-up, troubleshooting, and calibration.PC skills, including email and Excel.Familiarity with forklifts and overhead crane operation is preferred.Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and schematics.Work Environment
This position is based in a large facility with five test labs dedicated to mechanical, electrical, and smart systems. The role requires working on the 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, with occasional overtime as needed. Technicians will operate in an environment dealing with large systems that fit on the back of a tractor-trailer. The work involves standing, bending, and lifting (less than 50 lbs) for extended periods.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, North Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
