Job Title: Test Technician
Job Description

The Test Technician will work in a dynamic lab environment, responsible for supporting all aspects of test lab operations. This includes tester design and construction, instrumentation and measurement, procurement of test materials, and maintaining lab files and records. Collaborating with two other test lab technicians, the role involves a mix of R&D, new product development testing, production testing, and testing for the purchasing team.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, construct, maintain, operate, and troubleshoot test lab systems.Support lab equipment such as air compressors, cooling towers, pumps, bearing frames, and gearboxes.Troubleshoot mechanical faults, investigate test stand failures, and implement corrective actions.Maintain lab files including calibration records, test records, and component inventory.Use high precision measurement systems for pre-test and post-test measurements.Support customers to meet objectives and achieve on-time delivery goals.Ensure projects remain within scope, schedule, and budget.Identify and resolve project issues independently.Adhere to safe work habits, rules, and practices.Exhibit behavior that promotes team building, decision making, problem solving, and continuous improvement.Set up, operate, and report on tests related to mechanical seals and related technologies.Collaborate with engineers on test plans, product design, and process improvements.Specify and purchase fittings, fixtures, and other materials to support test programs.Essential SkillsExperience with testing, preferably in a lab setting.Understanding of measurement equipment such as gauges, CMMs, calipers, and micrometers.Ability to interpret assembly drawings, part drawings, equipment manuals, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.Experience in analyzing and documenting test results.Strong mechanical aptitude, which can stem from professional or personal experiences.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with fluid power.Experience with mechanical seals.Previous test lab experience.Experience with LabView.An associate degree or higher in engineering.Work Environment

Work in a state-of-the-art lab that was recently renovated and upgraded. The lab is clean, well-organized, and designed for efficiency with repeatable processes and fixtures. The position is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension or becoming a direct hire based on workload. Work hours are Monday-Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM. The company offers 5 days of PTO and observes standard holidays. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.52/hr.
