Job Title: Test & Measurement Technical Specialist – Electrical Systems

The Test & Measurement Technical Specialist - Electrical Systems supports Rolls-Royce test facilities. In this role, you will lead efforts to design, deploy and maintain programmable logic control (PLC) systems, electric drive and load absorption systems, large motors, various electrical/electronic control components, and low/medium-voltage electrical switchgear and distribution systems. The Test & Measurement Technical Specialist - Electrical Systems will directly support activities related to the planning, preparing and executing technical work tied to testing, in coordination with Program Execution Engineers. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a complex testing environment that will provide both challenges and development opportunities.

What you will be doing
With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:
Leads efforts to design, deploy and maintain programmable logic control (PLC) systems, electric drive and load absorption systems, large motors, various electrical/electronic control components, and low/medium-voltage electrical switchgear and distribution systems.Designs and delivers electrical test equipment for whole engine and subsystem testing of gas turbines and components, hybrid electric propulsion, thermal management systems, and energy storage systems.Executes system integration of electrical control components related to pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, instrumentation, and facility health and safety systems to validate capabilities and test requirements.Works autonomously and provides technical oversight and mentorship to other team members to develop solutions to complex electrical/technical problems of broad or ambiguous scope.Performs safety oversight during test facility improvements or test equipment installations and provides direction for internal and/or contracted skilled trades personnel. Great technical communicator that generates specifications, statements of work (SOW), and cost and schedule estimates; documents work through technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and models.Who we’re looking for:

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology with 5+ years of relevant experience with electrical systems, ORMaster's degree in Engineering/Engineering Technology with 3+ years of relevant experience with electrical systems, ORJD/PhD in Engineering/Engineering TechnologyMust be a US CitizenPreferred Requirements:
Experience deploying large motors and electric drives for industrial applicationsExperience maintaining low/medium voltage switchgear for industrial applicationsExperience developing and deploying PLC systems for industrial controlExperience with developing test solutions and proceduresExposure to gas turbine engines, engine test stands or industrial test environmentsAbility to qualify for DoD security clearanceWhat we offer
