To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Test Development Engineer located in Salt Lake City, UT.
Reporting to the manager the potential candidate would be in charge for architecting, developing, and creating test flow and test scripts for various cloud base platforms. This role will be in Flex’s Agility division under the (CEC) Cloud Enterprise and Communication team. The individual will work closely with internal and external stakeholders on the definition, and execution of test development plans throughout the product lifecycle.
What a typical day looks like:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on various projects in different stages of a product life cycle.Analyzes and interprets technical test data for implementation or other test development needsProvides support for other Engineering groups and Operation needs. Able to develop robust, efficient and high-quality code.Perform analytics on bash test scripts and identify correlations and root causes to test scripts to enhance yield or reduce test time.Works to set-up a standard test solution/environment and increase the use of test automation.
Occasionally integrate customer supplied test scripts into our factory automation framework.Understanding of manufacturing processes and tools.Evaluate different product interfaces.Understand hardware architecture of product and standard communication protocols.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
A Bachelors degree in HW/Software Engineering or similar is required. Or equivalent experience and training. 3+ years of experience in software development and testing.Ability to self-educate on new and upcoming technologies .Excellent communication skills – direct & unassuming, with the ability to quickly assess complex issues and discern the key messages.Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and complete objectives with minimal supervision.Familiar with Server Hardware and/or X86 architecture; additionally able to understand the sub-components and their functions Requires experience with Linux OS, bash scripting. Strong understanding of procedural software development methodologies.Enhances and provides input to functional processes or technologies. Executes functional strategic plans and objectives at the site. Demonstrates capability in leading a major initiative that may impact multiple sites/ customers.Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with employees, managers and customers.
