Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join our engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will troubleshoot electrical systems, developing test procedures, and maintaining facility electrical infrastructure. We are looking for strong technical expertise in electrical systems, PLC programming, and test equipment operation.

 

What you will do;

Troubleshoot small to medium-sized electrical panels with and without schematicsDesign, build, and document test systems for AB and third-party productsProgram and maintain PLCs using multiple platforms including RSLogix, Studio 5000, and Simatic Step 7Perform component-level troubleshooting of electronic assemblies with minimal documentationOperate and maintain test equipment including DMMs, oscilloscopes, and waveform generatorsCreate technical documentation and communicate findingsPerform facility electrical maintenance and troubleshoot power outagesCoordinate with external electrical contractors on facility projectsFollow electrical safe work practices and one-line diagramsDesign proper wiring layouts with consideration for safety, maintenance, and future upgradesPLC Programming: Proficiency in RSLogix 5, RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, Panelview Builder 32, FactoryTalk ME, Simatic Step 7, Modicon ProWORX, GE ProficyCommunication Protocols: Knowledge of RS-232/422/485, Modbus, CIP messaging, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, CAN, and GPIBTest Equipment: Experience with digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, curve tracers, and benchtop equipmentCAD Software: Recent working knowledge of AutoCAD/AutoCAD ElectricalPower Systems: Understanding of AC VFDs and Servo/Spindle Drive systemsSoldering: Good to excellent soldering skillsSafety: Knowledge of electrical safe work practicesStrong written and verbal communication abilitiesExcellent documentation skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionProblem-solving mindset with attention to detail

 

The Essentials - You Will Have;

Bachelor's degree - ideally in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering TechnologyThe right to work in the USA - we will not offer sponsorship now or in the future for this position

 

Preferred Qualifications - You may also have;

5+ years related experience in a similar roleProgramming experience in NI LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, C++, or C#Working knowledge of operating systems from DOS through Windows 11Unix and Linux experienceExperience coordinating contractor workFacility maintenance background
