We are looking for a hands-on Senior Test Automation Specialist to join our Software Engineering Excellence Enablement team. You will collaborate directly with software teams across Philips Business Units, guiding and co-creating test automation solutions that improve speed, quality, and compliance. Through software craftsmanship assessments and role-modelling best practices, you will help teams evolve from manual, ticket-driven validation toward developer-centric, automated, and traceable pipelines. **Your role:** + Provide technical guidance through real-world code contributions, pairing, and co-creation with development teams to improve their test automation practices. + Conduct Software Craftsmanship assessments to evaluate test maturity, identify improvement areas, and recommend actionable strategies tailored to team needs. + Coach teams on unit testing, mocking/stubbing, BDD/TDD, and system integration testing, ensuring alignment with the test pyramid and fast feedback principles. + Promote executable specifications and living documentation that link requirements directly to automated tests, supporting quality and auditability. + Drive the replacement of manual validation processes with automated, developer-friendly pipelines integrated into modern CI/CD workflows. + Share reusable patterns, examples, and tooling through inner-source contributions, documentation, and communities of practice. + Evaluate and help adopt AI-based testing accelerators that support teams in scaling automation and migrating away from manual test execution. **You're the right fit if:** + Demonstrated fresh experience in hands-on test automation within regulated software environments, preferably medical or other safety-critical industries. + Strong coding proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, C#, or C++) and related testing frameworks. + Deep understanding of test strategy design (unit, integration, e2e), the test pyramid, and automation in CI/CD pipelines. + Practical experience with BDD frameworks and executable specifications (e.g., Cucumber, SpecFlow), and linking tests to requirements. + Interest or hands-on experience with AI tools for testing productivity, such as AI-assisted test case generation or documentation parsing. + Strong facilitation and communication skills to conduct assessments, lead technical discussions, and influence testing culture across teams. + Experience translating regulatory and quality requirements (e.g., traceability, DHF, verification) into developer-centric, automatable solutions is a great plus. **Minimum required Education:** Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent. **Minimum required Experience:** Minimum 10 years of experience with Bachelor's OR Minimum 3 years of experience with Master's in areas such as Software Development, Software Design and Architecture, Testing and Quality Assurance or equivalent. **Minimum required Certification:** ISTQB Test Manager **How we work together** We believe that we are better together than apart.
