We are currently seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join our team in PARSIPPANY, New Jersey (US-NJ), United States (US). **Job Summary:** + The Lab Systems & Test Automation Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining lab infrastructure, physical and virtual systems, and automated test environments. + This role supports testing and validation activities by ensuring reliable hardware, software, networking, virtualization, security compliance, and test automation execution across Windows-based platforms. **Key Responsibilities:** **Lab Systems & Infrastructure** + Install, configure, and maintain **Windows 10 and Windows 11** on physical and virtual machines. + Install, upgrade, and replace **PC hardware components** including hard disks, memory, and peripherals. + Install, configure, and maintain **software packages** required for testing and automation. + Download and manage **Windows ISOs and monthly updates** from **MSDN** . + Create, manage, and maintain **VMware virtual machines** , including VM images and snapshots in all supported Windows languages. + Troubleshoot and resolve **hardware, OS, and software issues** on lab and test PCs. + Decommission obsolete systems, including **secure removal of storage devices and hardware components** . + Maintain **lab inventory** , asset tracking, and documentation. **Networking & Security** + Configure and maintain **static IP addresses** and lab network connectivity. + Maintain **network cabling and lab PC connections** . + Install and manage **security certificates** for web browsers and test environments. + Review **bi-weekly Information Security reports** and remediate reported vulnerabilities. + Ensure lab systems comply with **security and IT policies** . **Virtualization, Imaging & Backup** + Create and maintain **VM images, snapshots, and Ghost images** . + Apply **monthly Windows updates** to lab PCs and VM images. + Create and maintain **file servers and backup solutions** . + Perform **backup verification and file restoration** when required. **Test Automation & Execution** + Prepare and maintain **test automation environments** on physical and virtual machines. + Execute **automated test suites** as part of validation and regression testing. + Support **test automation frameworks** by ensuring system readiness and configuration. + Develop and maintain **basic automation and system scripts** (VBScript preferred) to support test execution and lab maintenance. + Assist in analyzing **automation test results** and troubleshooting environment-related failures. + Collaborate with **QA and test automation teams** to improve test stability and execution efficiency. **Skill/Experience/Education** **Mandatory Skills** **Required Skills & Qualifications** : + Expert-level knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11 + Strong experience with PC hardware installation and troubleshooting + Expert-level experience with VMware and virtualization + Solid understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, cabling, connectivity) + Experience with system imaging, backups, and recovery Knowledge of test automation execution and lab-based automation environments + Basic scripting skills (VBScript preferred) and programming knowledge Familiarity with information security compliance and remediation **Desired SkillsPreferred Qualifications:** + Experience supporting automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, UFT, or similar) + Prior experience in QA labs or test environments + Knowledge of enterprise security and patch management + Ability to manage multiple systems and testing priorities simultaneously About NTT DATA: NTT DATA is a $30 billion trusted global innovator of business and technology services.
