What will you do?

As a Test Automation Developer, you will drive quality for a modern SaaS by collaborating with our Software Engineers.

Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance:

Apply deep knowledge of computer science & programming principles, combined with empirical professional experience into innovative solutions. Integrate testing frameworks with our software development process. Build and track quality into agile product lifecycle encompassing requirements, design, code, testing, delivery, support.

DevOps & Production Support:

Support our products, identify and fix root causes of production incidents, own troubleshooting and resolution of production issues across teams. Own discovery, solutioning, monitoring, incident resolution – imbibe and socialize a DevOps mindset within the team. Own product quality and work to quickly address production defects.

Collaboration & Agile Practices:

Elevate the testing capabilities for all software development team members. Identify & own coaching opportunities. Partner with architects, engineers, development managers, product managers, agile coaches across the engineering practice in an agile environment, with scrum implemented at scale globally. Understand and socialize company goals, metrics and align with the team’s technical goals.

Continuous Improvement & innovation:

Driver in continuous improvement processes through metrics and feedback. Welcome, change and complexity. Learn quickly and adapt fast. Be a change leader! Stay current with learning current trends in technology and mentor and guide junior engineers and interns.

Control Systems: Git/SVN Testing Frameworks: tSQLt, xUnit, JUnit, Jest, Cypress Databases: Microsoft SQL Server Programming Languages: C# .NET, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript Development Tools: Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio Frontend Frameworks: Angular Version Control Systems: Git, SVN

Location: This is a remote position based out of the Toronto ON office with in-office presence when required.


What will you need to succeed?

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Very good understanding of testing concepts and terminologies. 3 – 5 years’ experience developing automated tests. Hands on expertise across the testing pyramid for modern web applications. Familiarity with implementing test processes across multiple languages. DevOps mindset – experience in a mature CI/CD SDLC environment, implemented exception. handling, logging, monitoring, performance measurement, operational metrics knowledge.  Proven experience working in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).  Strong communication, partnership, teamwork, and influencing skills required.  Proven ability to effectively share knowledge and stay aware of current trends and technical advancements.

       Assets / Bonus Points: 

Experience with AWS Services  Experience in Energy Management Software  Open-source contribution, repositories, personal projects  Participation in communities of interest, meetups  Certifications in technology, agile methodologies  Prior experience in agile implemented at scale across multiple teams globally
