**Job Summary**
The Alabama Cooperative Extension System is seeking a **TES 4-H Assistant** for Fayette County. This role will focus on implementing and coordinating the goals and objectives of the Fayette County 4-H program. For the County 4-H Program, the Assistant will work with schools to coordinate and/or facilitate in-school and after-school 4-H clubs.
Temporary Employment Services (TES ), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university.TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:
+ Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
+ Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
+ Assistance with special projects

**Essential Functions**
Essential functions include but are not limited to:
+ Create a monthly 4-H calendar and keep 4-H members informed about upcoming events and deadlines.
+ Assist in preparing curriculum, implementing youth related programs and working directly with youth activities
+ Support curriculum preparation and help facilitate youth-related programs and activities.
+ Follow and adapt lesson plans as needed to enhance youth social and cognitive skills through hands-on activities.
+ Serve as a member of the County 4-H Centennial Youth Initiative Team and assist with County 4-H and Extension activities.
+ Maintain accurate records of youth educational sessions and progress, following Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES ) guidelines and policies.
+ Collaborate with the County Extension Coordinator and 4-H Youth Development Coordinator on programs benefiting Fayette County youth.
+ Travel to program sites, with mileage reimbursement in accordance with Auburn University andACES policies.

**Minimum Qualifications**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required for entry into the applicant pool.
+ Must possess a valid driver’s license or be able to obtain one prior to selection.
Expectations:
+ Effective interpersonal communication and human relations skills are essential.
+ Working knowledge of personal computer operations, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
+ Demonstrated interest in working with youth (ages 5-19) on a variety of issues.
+ Sincere interest in collaborating with professional staff in an educational setting to nurture positive self-esteem, decision-making, and leadership skills.
+ Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision from professional staff.
+ Demonstrated interest in working with teens, addressing the challenges they face as adolescents.
+ Sensitivity to the diverse styles and strategies of teens.
+ Ability to work collaboratively and professionally with families and coworkers.
+ Willingness to become familiar with and adhere to the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES ) philosophy and guidelines.
+ Must have access to reliable transportation.
