Purpose and Summary Statement
The Territory Field Manager plays a pivotal role in driving profitability and growth for the Farm Seed Division of Seedway. This position is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of marketing plans, promoting the brand, establishing new customer relationships, and growing with existing customers. The Territory Field Manager will implement key marketing activities to maximize organic growth and expand Seedway’s reach in the assigned territory.
Essential Job Functions
Marketing and Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Sales Manager to develop and execute marketing plans within the assigned territory to meet company objectives. Account and Relationship Management: Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing accounts while actively seeking new distribution channels to expand the customer base. Sales Growth and Team Leadership: Drive profitable sales growth through target marketing, competitive analysis, and risk management. Provide ongoing coaching, management, and evaluation of the sales team to ensure sustained performance and success. Sales Administration and Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales administration plan that includes setting clear expectations, providing training, regular in-field coaching, measuring results, and ensuring proper follow-up. Sales Calls and Support: Assist other Territory Managers with mid-to-large sales calls and ongoing support for key accounts to foster relationships and drive sales. Annual Sales Goals and Objectives: Establish annual sales targets and key objectives in collaboration with the product sales team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Oversee the execution of these goals and take responsibility for the outcomes. Asset and Inventory Management: Work with location and/or operations managers to manage fixed assets and inventories efficiently within the territory. Cross-Selling Promotion: Foster cross-selling efforts among all department salespeople within the assigned territory to maximize opportunities for growth. Event Coordination and Promotion: Organize and execute plot tours, crop days, educational customer meetings, and public relations events to promote SEEDWAY products and services.Requirements
Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience. At least 5 years of business-related experience demonstrating advanced marketing and sales leadership skills. Proven ability to generate profitable sales, develop a repeat customer base, and gain market share. Core Skills: Strong business knowledge, collaboration, communication, decision-making abilities, customer focus, and skills development. Licenses and Certifications: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record. Required to travel independently, including overnight stays.
