Job Title: Terminal Manager

Schedule: Monday–Friday / 8:00am–5:00pm (flexibility needed)

Job Description

The Terminal Manager is responsible for leading and meeting all cultural, safety, and operational standards across the terminal. This role oversees daily terminal operations including driver management, equipment maintenance, equipment planning, tank wash operations, and independent contractor relations. The Terminal Manager ensures the terminal operates safely, efficiently, and profitably while maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal support teams. This position also partners with sales and client account specialists to support customer needs, increase sales, identify opportunities for improvement, and maintain high service standards.

ResponsibilitiesSupport and maintain Highway Transport safety standards.Lead and coordinate daily terminal operations, including transportation activities, maintenance, equipment planning, and equipment cleaning.Play an active role in fulfilling “Chemical Critical” loads through coordination with sales and customer service teams.Conduct daily business and operations meetings with local terminal teams and corporate operational support.Oversee all terminal employees, including drivers, maintenance, tank wash, and non-driver personnel.Maintain positive employee relations and manage hiring efforts in partnership with Human Resources.Monitor, measure, and drive terminal performance according to company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).Manage profit and loss objectives, including cost control, asset utilization, equipment utilization, and driver productivity.Ensure accurate operational data entry by verifying terminal systems and reporting information.Provide a safe and efficient work environment across the office, maintenance shop, tank wash, and yard areas.Build and maintain effective communication with internal teams, drivers, customers, and contractors.Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal company policies.Partner with HR and Safety on compliance matters, training, corrective actions, and disciplinary processes.Support customer interactions related to tank washing processes, equipment planning, lane forecasting, and service expectations.Advocate for continuous improvement in terminal operations, service delivery, operational efficiency, and facility utilization.Perform additional duties as assigned.Essential SkillsMinimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience required.Experience in tanker transportation, terminal operations, equipment planning, customer service, driver management, or dispatch strongly preferred.High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.Valid driver’s license and appropriate personal liability insurance required.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong dedication to safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.Proven operational leadership with the ability to balance hands-on terminal oversight and administrative responsibilities.Excellent communication skills with employees, customers, and independent contractors.Ability to delegate, coach, and develop personnel while maintaining positive employee relations.Strong customer service mindset with the ability to support service-related discussions.Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced terminal environment.Sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and calm decision-making under pressure.Working knowledge of transportation management systems; TMW experience a plus.Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Florence, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
