The specific focus of this position is inter-disciplinary, spanning the broad areas of computer architecture, networking, operating systems, distributed systems, database systems, and mobile systems. The Department of Computer Science is the largest and fastest growing department within the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The department is home to over 50 tenured and tenure-track faculty and 20 instructional faculty, and includes about 2000 undergraduate and 500 graduate students. The Computer Systems Lab consists of over ten faculty members whose expertise lies in building practical computer systems. As members of one of the premier research universities in the country, Computer Science faculty, staff, and students are engaged in cutting-edge research projects that address some of the most important challenges facing society today.
