The duties of this position will include, but not be limited to:• Assist in the continued development of the State Supplement Program (SSP) to support all SSP operational needs;• Supervise clerical support staff to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and within time frames and communicate any updates and/or issues impacting any performance standards to the unit manager;• Develop trainings and staff protocols and ensure that they are being implemented appropriately;• Act as SSP bureau liaison to federal and state agencies as well as private contractors;• Assist in the facilitation and management of IT projects and system upgrades;• Answer elevated calls or return phone calls following protocols and enter data from calls into the SSP system;• Create and review reports to monitor work performance using Cognos, SFS, Excel, SSP System, Verizon and the Welfare Management System (WMS);• Establish and work with new and/or current procedures to maintain accurate case information; and• Work with Finance and the Treasury to ensure payments are accurate, as well as locate and re-issue for any lost payments. Minimum Qualifications NY HELPS: This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, candidates may be hired via a non-competitive appointment if they meet the below NY HELPS minimum qualifications.At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
