Temporary - Admissions Counselor - Three Positions
This staff member will serve as one of several admissions counselors in the Office of Admission. This person will work closely with other professional and classified staff in Admissions to support the in-house operations of the department during the office’s traditions recruitment/travel season. The temporary admissions counselor role will be a front line position providing quality customer service to prospective students and their families. Major responsibilities of this position include the recruitment of first-year and transfer students, working closely with students, families, guidance counselors and transfer counselors to enable the University to meet its undergraduate admission goals. The starting salary for this temporary position is $3,600 per month. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: + Be a front facing entity for campus tour welcoming, visitor center staffing and ensuring all visitors to campus having a quality visit and experience + Answering phones for the admissions office and delivering quality customer service + Staff all admissions on campus events including but not limited to open house, guidance events, student receptions, tours, etc. + Support the admissions office email and answer questions from prospective students and their families. + Provide professional support and guidance to student employees within the office of admissions. + Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Required: + Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience + Must possess strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. + Knowledgeable with electronic communications methods + Must work simultaneously with multiple projects, deadlines and departments. + Ability to lift boxes up to 35 pints. + Basic computer proficiency + Successful candidates will be approachable, open, honest, and a relationship builder.
