TEMP Workforce Development Program Specialist
Position Summary

Located 45 minutes from the Nation’s Capital, nestled in a history-rich community of southern Maryland, The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) has been twice named in the top 150 community colleges by the Aspen Institute with academic programs in over 100 disciplines. The Workforce Development Program Specialist supports the development, delivery, and management of non-credit workforce training programs across a variety of industry sectors, including open enrollment and contract training. This role provides essential administrative and operational support for program execution, including client, student, and instructor communication, logistical coordination, and documentation. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office tools to manage records, schedules, and training materials.

Work Schedule: 25 hours per week

Reports to: Executive Director Workforce Development-CWD

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

Program Administration and Instructional Support – 75%
Provide administrative and operational support to Workforce Development leadership and assigned program areas.Assist in the coordination and documentation of workforce training programs, including contract and open-enrollment offerings.Maintain and track inventory of instructional materials, supplies, and office resources.Draft, proofread, and manage official program documents, including course schedules, marketing collateral, student forms, and evaluation summaries.Coordinate instructional logistics, including book adoptions, teaching contracts, attendance sheets, course rosters, and completion certificates.Communicate regularly with students and instructors to ensure compliance with attendance, evaluation, and course completion requirements.Support data entry and tracking in college systems (e.g., Colleague, Lumens, myLearning) for accurate program reporting.Contract Training and Client Support – 25%
Coordinate classroom, lab, and material needs for contract training deliveries.Communicate with external clients to support program setup, scheduling, billing, and course evaluation.Maintain accurate records of client communication and contract activity.Assist in the management and close-out process of contract training agreements.Provide responsive and professional support to contract clients, instructors, and internal staff throughout the training cycle.Additional Duties:

Minimum Education and Training

Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalency.Proficiency with Microsoft programs including Excel and Word.Two years of experience with administrative work in a professional setting, preferably educational.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
Excellent customer service skillsStrong technology skillsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications and Standards Required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office environment, interspersed with occasional classroom and or client areas.
