The base pay for this position generally is between $75,200.00 and $120,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.

As a Telephone Operations Engineer II, you will oversee the operations, maintenance, and provisioning of critical switches and systems, supporting both traditional and Voice over IP technologies. Your expertise will ensure seamless connectivity and reliability for customers across Spectrum’s networks, driving essential communications every day.
Shift Requirement: Sunday - Thursday; 9 pm - 6 am
How You’ll Make an Impact
Conduct daily detailed DNHC process for assigned areas of responsibilityManage all telephony equipment under limited supervisionFollow established guidelines for telephone network daily health check procedures and call out protocols during outage situationsPrepare detailed RCA documentation as a postmortem for critical outagesConfigure and troubleshoots SS7, ISUP, and SIP with limited assistance and guides TOE I with executionPerform installation and turn up of Trunk Groups and augments as determined by Traffic and Capacity TeamUnderstand telephony circuit architecture concepts, OC12, OC3, DS3, DS1 etc.Create mops and plan changes in advance with limited assistanceAssume key role in trouble shooting efforts during major outages and provides guidance to TOE IAssume key roles in all Residential and Business telephony issuesDocument switch and telephone network architectureAssist other TOE in documenting switch and telephone network architectureDemonstrate IP knowledge, L2, L3, TCP, UDP and telephony equivalents, ability to troubleshoot IP connectivity issues or CCNTSupport all core telephony equipment including hardware and software upgrades, maintenance and expansionsGuide TOE I in implementationEvaluate and plans for core telephony equipment changes and expansionsWorkingConditions

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent work experienceCCNA/CCIE or other industry certificationsExperience
3+ years Wireline, Wireless, or Broadband telephony switch installation or administration experience3+ years database management and network configuration work experience3+ years telephone industry experienceSkills
Ability to read, write, speak and understand EnglishAbility to troubleshoot during outage situationsComprehensive knowledge of telephony disciplines (SBC, VoIP Switch, SIP protocol, etc.)Ability to effectively work with provider vendorsAbility to maintain professional composure and demonstrate critical thinking during stressful or complex projectsAbility to use personal computer and software applicationsValid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within company required standardsPreferred Qualifications
Skills
