_Telemetry Monitor Technician/Central Tele Monitoring_ _Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together_ Work location: Texas Health Plano, 6200 West Parker Road, Plano, TX 75093 Work hours: Full Time Nights (6:45pm - 7:15am) Three 12-hour night shifts for 36 hours/week. Diploma or Equivalent Required + Telemetry monitoring experience preferred + CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency Required + Basic Understanding/ability to learn medical terminology What You Will Do + Demonstrates competency in the set up and use of the telemetry monitoring equipment. + Collects, reports, and documents patient information (rhythms/rate) timely and accurately. + Seeks assistance, supervision, or consultation when unsure of rhythm(s) identification. + Distinguishes and reports abnormalities and initiates action to provide continuity of care. + Processes admission and discharge or patients in system promptly. Prepares monitor for next patient admission. + Notifies patient's primary RN promptly of any changes in patient's monitor view. + Communicates promptly of perceived risks specific to patient safety or immediate need for assistance to co-workers, nurses, and physicians/providers. + Completes safety checklists and quality controls as required. + Assures that alarms are activated with appropriate settings and are sufficiently audible. + Cleans all monitors per manufacturer's instructions after each use. + Reports equipment malfunction and/or failure immediately per escalation procedures. + Answers telephone, intercom, and/or Vocera timely and in a polite manner and communicates information to the appropriate party. + Maintains an orderly and clean work area in compliance with regulatory standards.
