What You Will Do:

Participate in the execution, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of Electrical, Controls, and Communications systems and initiatives, including programming of Remote Terminal Units (RTUs), Backup Generator installation and programming, and Electronic Pressure Recorder (ERs) installations and maintenance.

Provide inputs in the designing, recommending, selecting, installing, calibrating, programming, commissioning, managing, and maintaining components of the Telemetry/SCADA systems. This includes gate and regulation station assets, remote terminal units, station controls, wireless infrastructure, grounding systems, electrical cabling, low voltage and emergency/backup power supply systems, technology enhancements.

Maintain all required training, and OQ’s and technical competencies to perform maintenance, repairs, and/or replacement of complex electrical, telemetry and instrumentation equipment.

Independently troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and/or replacement of electrical, telemetry and instrumentation equipment.

Ensure that the installation, operation and maintenance of components and infrastructure are in accordance with all applicable codes and standards.

Provide accurate and detailed documentation of all work performed, i.e., red-line drawings, complete logbooks, electronic maintenance system records updating and other paperwork as required.

Respond to reported telemetry outages in a timely manner, while ensuring minimal system disruptions. This requires close liaison and good working relations with Gas Control, Station Operations, Engineering and SCADA staff.

Ensure the safe and compliant operation of station facilities including inspections, investigations, and near-miss reporting.

Interact with suppliers, contractors and consultants regarding availability, purchase and installation of new and replacement hardware, firmware, software, and new technologies.

Understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures and demonstrate good judgement when assessing the ability to perform work safely.

Participate in On-Call duties across Ontario (Remote Support + Physically on-site) on rotating cycle

Support other team members, internal and external stakeholders across Ontario.

Calibrate & troubleshoot activities of measurement devices in field settings

Respond to reported telemetry or odourization incidents and outages in a timely manner, while ensuring minimal system disruptions. This requires close liaison and good working relations with Gas Control, Station Operations and SCADA staff. Prepare necessary reports identifying cause of failures and recommend / implement action plans for future avoidance.

Who You Are:

College graduate in the field of Instrumentation/Controls and Electrical Technology PLC, Robotics or Instrumentation, Boiler & Motor Operation,

5 - 7 years related field experience in the areas of telemetry, controls, and/or electrical work

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret electrical and logic drawings.

Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

Ability to respond to on call duties on a 24 hour/7-day rotational basis throughout EGI.

Solid working knowledge of RTU’s, PLC’s and ER’s (Electronic Recording Devices)

Current valid driver’s Ontario issued G license and maintenance of a responsible driving record

Willing to Travel across Ontario

442 Electrical License (Minimum)

Preferred:

Eligible for C.E.T. Certification or possess Certification as an Instrument Mechanic or Electrician.

Electrical (Construction & Maintenance) 309A ticket

Knowledge of natural gas pipeline field assets in transmission, distribution, and storage systems.

Capable of understanding programming and defining the philosophy of control systems.

Working Conditions:

Field environment which requires frequent exposure to adverse weather conditions and remote sites

Expected to wear protective equipment to prevent a serious or lost time injury.

Frequent travel is required between stations and reporting offices.

Work includes both indoor and outdoor activities.

High attention to detail for long periods of time.
