Telecommunications Technician
Our client is seeking a Telecommunications Technician to join their team. As a Telecommunications Technician, you will be part of the DNR Radio Program supporting a dedicated team of specialists. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively, which will align successfully in the organization. **Job Title: Telecommunications Technician** **Location:** Green Bay, Black River Falls, or Tomahawk WI **Note:** This position requires occasional travel within Wisconsin to service and maintain radio sites and equipment, while primarily being based onsite at one of the preferred locations (Green Bay, Black River Falls, or Tomahawk). **What's the Job?** + Support and maintain statewide radio communication systems, including repeaters and radio sites. + Install, troubleshoot, and repair vehicle and office electronic equipment related to radio systems. + Collaborate with team members and external partners to ensure reliable communication infrastructure. + Assist with the coordination of radio support for fire suppression, prescribed burning, and public safety events. + Work closely with the DNR Radio Program staff to ensure operational excellence and system integrity. **What's Needed?** + Knowledge of conventional VHF Radio System operability (2+ years). + Technical competency with electronic equipment (2+ years). + Experience with vehicle and office electronics installation (2+ years). + Strong verbal and written communication skills (2+ years). + Ability to work alone or in a team environment (2+ years). **What's in it for me?** + Opportunity to work on impactful projects supporting natural resource management. + Engagement with a dedicated and collaborative team environment. + Potential for contract extension and career growth within the organization. + Contributing to public safety and environmental conservation efforts. + Competitive pay rate aligned with industry standards.
