**Job Summary** The Telecommunications Technician supports the Information Technology (IT) team and business operations to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the system operations. This role maintains telecommunication equipment, ensuring quality control, security protocols and responding to user issues and outages. **Essential Functions** + Installs, operates, and maintains voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment. + Maintains equipment and provides basic troubleshooting. + Documents tasks effectively and timely. + Performs system testing and signal verification. + Performs system moves and changes as needed. + Monitors quality controls, security and stability across the system. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Maintains regular and reliable attendance. + Complies with all policies and standards. **Qualifications** + Associate Degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field preferred + 1-3 years of experience in telecommunications, networking, or a related field required + 1-3 years of experience working with network cabling, fiber optics, wireless systems, and VoIP technology preferred **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** + Ability to set up and configure telecommunications equipment such as routers, switches, and multiplexers. + Ability to read and understand plans, manual, technical specifications and customer orders. + Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot issues, maintain and repair telecommunications systems. + Strong understanding of system configuration and programming. + Understands safety requirements and proper use of tools, protective gear, and safety procedures. + Excellent communication and listening skills. + Proven technical ability in communication work. + Strong customer service orientation. + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. + Knowledge of fiber optic splicing and connecting terminations. + Ability to organize work, set priorities, and meet deadlines. + Confidence working with computer and networking equipment. + Ability to learn new skills/procedures. **Licenses and Certifications** + Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or related certification preferred INDNC Equal Employment Opportunity This organization does not discriminate in any way to deprive any person of employment opportunities or otherwise adversely affect the status of any employee because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, citizenship, veteran status, or military or uniformed services, in accordance with all applicable governmental laws and regulations.
