Position: Telecommunications Operator (0.6 FTE / 24 hours per week)
Work Setting: In-person
Shift Hours:

Friday: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Saturday: 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Role Summary:
As a Telecommunications Operator, you will manage a 24/7 multi-line switchboard, serving multiple Essentia Health facilities. You will answer incoming calls, gather and relay essential information, and direct calls to the appropriate departments or individuals. This role is critical in supporting internal and external communication, including emergency response coordination, provider paging, and patient support through our Nurse Care Line.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate a high-volume, multi-line switchboard efficiently and professionally

Page and message providers and staff promptly

Support emergency communication as the first point of contact in critical situations

Update online provider on-call calendars as needed

Maintain and coordinate hospitalist rotation schedules to ensure accurate patient assignments

Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal teams and external callers

Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of customer service experience

Basic knowledge of Windows-based computer systems

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Strong phone etiquette and communication skills

Ability to work independently.

Availability to work weekends and some holidays as required

Education Qualifications:

No educational requirements.

Work Experience:
2 years of customer service experience is required.

Working PC Knowledge (basic Windows Operating System)

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

No certification/licensure required.
