TUVA is seeking an experienced Telecommunications CAD Engineer to join our team. This role will report directly to the CAD Department Manager.
Responsibilities
Prepares drawings for an entire ICT project with independent responsibility for completion. Works with some degree of responsibility for content and/or from engineers, technicians and project manager sketches, marked up prints, and verbal instructions. Translates ideas, rough sketches, specifications, and calculations of engineers and project managers into complete and accurate working drawings for use in structure and system maintenance, repair, or new construction. Provides CADD drafting and plotting services to internal and external customers. Communicates with customers on all job requests and CADD-related requirements. Locates reference material and possesses knowledge of plotter operations. Prepares drawings for contractual requirements utilizing software and associated equipment to prepare sets or groups of drawings for new ICT construction, modification, alteration. This typically consists of floor plans, rack elevations, riser diagrams and detailed illustration of components. Maintains and updates as-built drawings. Takes action to ensure that information on drawings submitted as “as built” for projects are made available in appropriate folders on network server. Research original drawings and extracts record drawings from electronic files. Maintains electronic copies of all as built and new designs on network server in appropriate folders.
Qualifications
5+ years of drafting experience.Shall be proficient and qualified to develop, format, proof, edit/revise, produce, and publish CADD drawings in accordance with set standards utilizing AutoCAD LT. Must possess a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office ® suite, Microsoft Sharepoint, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Must possess proficient writing skills. Ability to obtain a U.S. government SECRET security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
Possess a working knowledge of ICT structured cabling (copper/fiber/wireless) and networking concepts (network appliances, transceivers and topology).Active Secret Security Clearance.Certification from a two (2) year accredited Technical School in the field of Drafting.Job ID
