CACI is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Journeyman, Telecom Technician to join our team to support our customer, U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM), in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. This position is contingent upon award.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the Telecom networking processes in alignment with ITIL best practices. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring smooth and efficient implementation of changes across USSOUTHCOM Cyber Information Technology Enterprise Services (SCITES).
Key Responsibilities:
Establishes communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment in support of base communications (BASECOM) services
Plans network installations by studying customer orders, plans, manuals, and technical specifications
Orders and gathers equipment, supplies, materials, and tools and assesses installation sites and prepares installation diagram
Establishes voice and data networks by installing telecommunications equipment, routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays, and alarm and fire-suppression systems
Establishing connections, programming features, and integrations following industry standards
Activates remote access tools and coordinates with contractors
Verifies service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; and identifying, correcting, or escalating problems
Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables and recording configuration diagrams and specifications
Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
Required Qualifications:
Active secret level clearance
High School Graduate +7 years’ experience
Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience with change management tools and ITSM platforms (ServiceNow)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a large, distributed IT enterprise
Knowledge of DevOps practices and principles
One or more certifications: Telecommunications (TCM), Telecommunications Master Engineer, iNARTE Telecommunications Engineer, Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), Internet Protorcol Engineering Professional (IPEP), Certified Telecommunications Network Specialist (CTNS), or Certified IP Telecom Network Specialist

The proposed salary range for this position is:
