Airswift is seeking a Service Technician to work on a permanent contract in Niteroi with a large company.
This professional will perform field and/or workshop service work, both onshore and offshore. They will perform tasks on vessels and power plants, as well as maintenance and repair activities on two- and four-stroke engines and their components, axial and radial turbochargers, and other equipment, as instructed by the company.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs pre-service preparation, including: sorting tools, parts, and consumables.
• Cleaning parts and organizing tools.
• Assembling and disassembling mechanical components, unsupervised.
• Performs replacement and overhaul of radial cartridges.
• Handles all engine-specific tools and machines: honing machine, seat and valve grinder for 2- and 4-stroke engines, hydraulic jack, hydraulic pump, and similar.
• Performs non-destructive testing: durometer, roughness tester, and liquid penetrant.
• Performs performance tests on 2- and 4-stroke engines.
• Identifies parts in the manual, according to the need for overhaul of engine components/turbochargers and their components.
• Performs component calibration (metrology).
• Prepares parts lists for mechanical components.
• Prepares standard parts lists for overhauls on 2- and 4-stroke engines and turbochargers.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Technical degree in mechanics, electrical engineering, or related fields. (Preferred)
• Advanced Microsoft Office package.
• Basic/intermediate English.


• Experience in major and minor maintenance of 2- and 4-stroke engines and turbochargers.
• Experience handling specific engine machinery, tools, and equipment (honing machine, seat and valve grinder for 2- and 4-stroke engines, hydraulic jack, hydraulic pump, and similar equipment).
• Experience in radial cartridge maintenance.
• Knowledge of technical manuals.
• Experience with metrology.
• Experience in non-destructive testing: durometer, roughness tester, and liquid penetrant.
