First Student is now hiring a Mechanic to join our shop team. As a Technician with First Student, you'll play a vital role in keeping students safe—maintaining the iconic yellow buses that transport them to and from school every day.

What You’ll Do:

As a First Student Mechanic, your responsibilities will include:

Performing routine maintenance and inspections on school buses

Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues

Working on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions

Completing work orders accurately and on time

Assisting with mobile/emergency repairs when needed

Requirements:

You may be a great fit if you:

Have 3–5 years of experience with diesel, automotive, electric, or CNG vehicles

Own a set of mechanic’s tools

Have a valid driver’s license

CDL is preferred but not required – however, you must be willing to obtain a CDL within the first 6 months of hire (we’ll provide training!)

Are committed to growing your skill set through ASE certification
