Description
Lee County is hiring a Technician I Customer Service for our Transportation team. In this job, you will help keep our roads and neighborhoods safe. You will check county property, answer requests from citizens, and help crews with plans and information.
This job is great for someone who likes working outside, solving problems, and helping the community.
Duties and Responsibilities
What You Will Do
+ Work outside most days to check roads, sidewalks, and drainage areas.
+ Respond to requests from citizens and make sure all information is correct.
+ Talk with people by phone, email, mail, or in person to:
+ Answer questions
+ Get details about problems
+ Give updates on projects
+ Send requests to the right staff or agency when needed.
+ Look up maps and records to find information for projects.
+ Make work plans for crews to fix problems.
+ Act fast when there is flooding or a safety issue.
+ Enter requests into the computer and keep records up to date.
+ Help crews with maps and information.
+ Write letters or emails to customers and other agencies.
+ Inspect drainage areas and other county property like roads, bridges, and landscaping.
+ Drive an all-terrain vehicle for inspections.
+ Work with other departments and contractors on projects.
+ Do other tasks as needed.
Education, Experience, Licensing
What You Need
+ High School Diploma or GED, or similar education and experience.
+ One (1) year of experience in construction, maintenance, or similar work.
+ A valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Preferred:
+ Experience with roads, bridges, or drainage systems.
Extra Skills
+ Able to drive an all-terrain vehicle.
+ Know how to use simple tools like:
+ Laser level (to measure slopes)
+ Radar tool (to find pipes underground)

Work Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
