The New Porgera Limited now has a vacancy for Technician - Autoclaves
About the role
Reporting to the Area Supervisor, the successful applicant will ensure the autoclaves are operating as per standing operating procedures and within the approved metallurgical parameters. He/she will maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant company policies and procedures.
In this role, you will:
Confer with Area Supervisors / Mill Foreman and Metallurgists to plan day to day production Ensures all incidents and accidents are reported immediately Conduct general safety inspection in area of responsibility Safe and efficient operation of all equipment in the area of responsibility to maximize production Ensure that adequate reagents are mixed and available in the area of responsibility Trouble shoot, report faults and taking the necessary remedial and corrective action in the area of responsibility. Liaise with maintenance department to ensure all downtime is minimized Co-ordinate shutdowns and breakdowns, equipment isolation, JSAs and permit issuing for plant shutdowns Participate in the commissioning of new plant and new equipment Know KPI targets and strive to achieve and maintain in the area of responsibility Liaise with the Metallurgical Department and the Assay lab on production assays, and adjust plant to suit assay results Maintain a shift production log and ensure all log sheets are filled out correctly and checklists are completed each shift Ensure all personnel are inducted in area of responsibility Liaise with upstream and downstream process to optimize throughput Attend morning meetings and shift hand over meetings Complete and prioritize work notifications generated in area of responsibility Being aware of the responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of people and the workplace and external environment is an important part of this role Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant NPL policies & procedures.About You
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience.
Minimum of 5 years process plant experience in the field and have proven competency operating autoclaves via a digital control system. University qualification in Engineering or related fields is desired Certificate II & III in Metalliferous Mining (Processing) Metallurgical background Good communication and computer skills for report writing purposes Good understanding of the permit to work system A good understanding of chemical handling and their effects Ability to train PNG Nationals.Mobilization Requirement
