**Technician Assistant** **Department** **:** **Emergency** **Location: Oakville, ON** **Mississauga-Oakville Emergency Department** is currently welcoming a dependable and outgoing **Technician Assistant** to join our clinic. This full-time opportunity includes a range of responsibilities which directly contribute to the efficient and effective daily operation of the department. Our emergency department provides thorough training to all new staff members, including a mentoring program, to ensure the success of all new team members! + Caring for our patients; feeding, walking and offering a gentle voice of assurance + Ensure animal housing or enclosure is clean, sanitary and comfortable + Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients and pet parents + Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment + General housekeeping duties + Willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services and updated medical procedures + Compassion and a nurturing attitude + Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and maintain a high quality of care in a busy environment + Ability to adapt to changing situations + Working with a team focus, assisting the veterinary staff with various procedures, tasks and treatments **Schedule:** This position may consist of daytime, evening, overnight and/or weekend shifts. **What VCA Canada Offers** Join our team and you will make a huge difference in the lives of pets and their families!
