The RSSL Microbiology laboratory performs a wide range of analytical analyses for a variety of food, pharmaceutical and healthcare companies and supports Mondelez research and innovation. The role at Technician is to be responsible for performing a range of routine activities to support effective completion of projects and meet the customer’s contractual agreements. Perform lab admin and housekeeping activities, basic routine analysis and work in accordance with the quality standards within RSSL Microbiology laboratory. Refer to INF-680 for details. The position will be primarily based at the Wokingham location although may require attendance of any of the RSSL sites. Working Pattern will align with the expectations of the role the individual has successfully applied for. **Primary Accountabilities / Responsibilities:** **Technical:** + Provide high quality customer service at all timesby ensuring effective organisation of assigned workload, integrity of analytical data generated andtimely/accurateprovision of results. + Performa range ofbasicroutineanalysisunder supervisionof a senior member of staff. + Operatebasiclab equipmentas directed. + Becompetentin the use of generic and specific software packagesrequiredfor the role: Laboratory’s LIMS system, Q-Pulse,etc + Provide training in routine activities. + Perform Lab admin and housekeeping duties as directed. + Will be expected to work in different laboratories if the demand isrequired. **Communication & Influence** + Work as part of an efficient analytical team **QEHS** + Work to the highest standards of safety and quality by ensuring thatappropriate COSHHs, risk assessments and SOPs areunderstood and followed. + To complete assigned quality actionsin a timely manner + Tomaintaina clean,tidyand safe working environment. **Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Language Requirements:** + Educated toA/ HNC level or degree in a relevant scientific discipline + To understand and work to the requirements of GMP and UKAS. + Ensure training records areaccurate. + Accountable, honest, hardworkingand able to work efficiently in a team + Flexible and adaptable to meet customer/business requirements. + Meticulous attention to detail and an ability to follow written instructions. + Goodwritten and verbal communication skills. + Self motivated,enthusiasticand quick to learn. + Well organized and capable of working on multiple activities concurrently. + Computer literatein standard MS office applications + Scientific understanding of basic lab equipment + English fluency (written and spoken) **More about this role** **_This is a Full Time (_** **_Permanent role_** **_)*_** **_*Thursday to Monday (including_** **_Bank Holidays)_** In return for your commitment, drive and enthusiasm, we offer an attractive benefits package within a highly successful international business that offers financial rewards and resources, including: + Opportunities to learn and develop + Performance Related Bonus scheme + Contributory pension (between 8% to 11% employer contribution) + Life assurance + Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) + A flexible benefits programme (Gym discounts, private health insurance, restaurant discounts, etc).
