Job Title: Fire Systems Apprentice

Job Description

Join a family-owned business with over 60 years of experience in fire safety solutions as a Fire Systems Apprentice. This role offers the chance to learn and grow within the fire protection industry, working alongside seasoned technicians. As an apprentice, you will assist in the installation, servicing, and inspection of fire safety systems, contributing to our mission of keeping communities safe.

Responsibilities

Install specialized fire suppression systems, such as kitchen hoods and spray booth systems, at commercial and industrial sites.Work from job drawings and follow instructions from specialists.Ensure installations are completed accurately and efficiently without supervision.Use hand and power tools confidently and responsibly.Collaborate with specialists or salespeople to ensure smooth and precise installations.Follow safety guidelines and local code requirements, with training provided.Troubleshoot and make adjustments as needed during installations.

Essential Skills

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.Ability to pass a drug screening.Mechanical aptitude and experience with tools.Capability to lift 50+ lbs and work on ladders or lifts.Ability to follow directions and complete tasks independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in HVAC, carpentry, low-voltage, or fire protection is advantageous but not required.Familiarity with systems like Ansul, Range Guard, Kidde, or Pyro-Chem is a plus.Holding any manufacturer certifications or relevant trade licenses is beneficial.Knowledge in electrical installation, field service, and maintenance, including working with codes such as NFPA17, 17A, and 96.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
